Notes: Halászbástya, designed by Frigyes Schulek, was built at the beginning of the 19th century. The seven towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that conquered the Carpathian Basin in 896. The name comes from medieval times when fish markets were held on the square behind it (next to Matthias Church). It also is said that the Guild of Fisherman defended this part of the castle wall in the 18th century.
